my puppy had week pasterns. When most of the litter of 9 did not. Some
times it is just a puppy thing. I thought he would never out grow it. But he did.
he ended up with the best looking pasterns in the litter. So try not to
worry. Lisa

Thank you Catherine ! and I meant to say that I received 60# of all
kinds of things - (not 60# of just brains), and brains was just one
of them, maybe a pound or so., but I still threw it in the freezer
and decided not to look at it too closely. eesh.
Some stuff is easier than others for me, whole prey is getting easier
but still freaks me out a little. I guess what matters in the end is
that it doesn't bother the dogs at all - they are loving it.
Thanks again,
Jen C

Keep in mind what you'll save in vet bills with a healthy dog. :)
We just started raw a couple weeks ago, and decided to try our local small grocer with real
butchers. When we start to add in a variety of proteins, I can see I'll be able to take
advantage of sales.
With a little luck, I'm hoping we develop a relationship with the butcher and maybe he'll be
able to put together some meaty cuts and organs for us at a deal.
We got our dog from the shelter in mid-October, and I swear, his coat is already looking
healthier and shiny. He LOVES his raw meals, and it's nice to see him actually work at his
meal rather than being done in 2.5 seconds (on kibble).
Good luck,
Michelle

Correct, except the objective is to kill bacteria which causes the
changes. It makes meat last longer before it goes bad.
I don't think gas is harmful to the meat or people that eat it.
It's not like you are breathing the stuff. :) :) :)

There is not magic bullet. Be tough. You don't "make them go
hungry", they choose to go hungry. You offer them food (chicken in
this case) and they choose whether or not to eat it. It is them
deciding to go hungry.

5. possible allergies??

Thanks to all who replied to my 'yeasty ears' post. Cicero has been on
raw chicken and some beef for approximately 2 weeks ( by the way he has
been fed many different raw ground meats on his kibble since 8 weeks).
I don't see any improvement in his ears....... yet. Am I being
impatient? Also , it has been suggested to me that perhaps he might be
allergic to chicken??
Can anyone weigh in on this?
Thanks,
Mundi and Cicero
