Re: [rawfeeding] Feeding frozen

One of my dogs weighs in at 20#, I'm not much at math but I calculate that he needs approx 1/2 pound of meat per day.

I find that the pieces of meat that weigh in at 1/2 pound (or even less if I want to feed x2 a day) are too small for the gulper that he is. When I feed the pieces frozen with about 5 minutes of sitting in hot water, he can't gulp it, he has to chew it. There is enough play in the meat so that he doesn't break any teeth.

I have 2 girls and they LOVE their food frozen - Nugget won't even touch a piece of food that isn't frozen solid - Kimber prefers to be frozen, but is happy to eat anything Nugget leaves behind - I haven't had any problems with them eating it this way and we have been feeding RAW for about 3 months - Hope this helps
