Re: [rawfeeding] Tripe

It's the stomach of a ruminant animal, usually a sheep or cow. In
grocery stores they sell it cleaned and bleached for human consumption
(it's used to make menudo I think) but for our pets it's best to feed
"green" tripe which is the unwashed stomach.

Thanks Barbara, I did buy the bleached tripe from a butcher at an open air market. I don't know anyone that would have the green tripe.

Can you tell me if tripe is a substite for a beef, turkey, etc. meal? Or is is something we grind up and make patties with another meat? I don't know if I should feed it as a sole meal or not...
