[rawfeeding] Re: gnaw-worthy bones

My little puppy only gnawed on the pig foot's meat and skin until she
gave up, but my 11 month old pup, who is a super-destroyer-chewer, ate
the pig's foot (as someone else mentioned) "like a sandwich." :-) It
was about 8 inches long, and the next day he was pooping what looked
like sand pellets, lol. Poor guy. So yes, if your dog eats the whole
bone, I would say to plan ahead and feed him all meaty meat/organs the
day of the pig's foot to help soften him up. With a cow's foot, that
bone is a lot harder and stronger (might chip teeth), so I imagine
your dog probably won't eat it, in which case I wouldn't guess you'd
have to worry about compensating.
I'm still new, but that was my experience anyway.
