One 1,000mg capsule containing at least 180 EPA and 120 DHA per 20lb
of dog, daily.

An 80# dog would get four 1000mg capsules a day. which is 1200mg
combined EPA/DHA. These two amino acids are the ones that matter as
far as supplemental O3 oil goes.

The place I want to buy from has 500mg and 1000mg softgels that

This product, to get to at least 300mg combined EPA/DHA, would need
to be increased as the base dose because the combined EPA/DHA is only
200mg/capsule. You'd need to feed three capsules as the base dose.

Which means for a 80# dog you'd be giving as many as 12 capsules a
day (three capsules per dose quadrupled). If you are arithmatically
inclined you can figure the exact number of capsules you'd need in
order to deliver 1200mg combined EPA/DHA; me, I'd rather purchase a
product that has more bang per capsule. Per dose is not the same as
per capsule.

The softgel construction is not part of the EPA/DHA numbers. What's
not DHA/EPA in the oil is other stuff that comprises oil.

Based on one 1000mg capsule with a combined EPA/DHA total of 300mg,
bigger cats might get one capsule a day--every other day if the dose
is a maintenance dose; small cats could take a capsule every other
day for a therapeutic dose but perhaps only three or four times a
week for maintenance.

It's difficult to overdose on this stuff, so feeding a precise dose
is not essential. If you feel that big doses will be useful, best to
find a product that allows you to feed big doses without bankrupting
you.
