Soy is some questionable stuff. All the controversy re: soy in the
human diet is OT for this list, but if you're interested, just
google "soy" sometime. For dogs, my biggest concern would probably
be that soy is a common allergen.

I use them, so clearly I don't think that small amount matters. But
IF my dog ever developed the itchies, you can bet that would be the
first place I'd look. Right after treats.

If you feel that your dog needs more omega-3's, you're likely to
continue needing a supplement to provide them. Feeding some fish --
even if it's the right kind of fish, that actually IS high in o3's --
is unlikely to provide enough o3 all by itself. Unless that's MOST
of what you're feeding, which it probably won't be.

The ideal-world way to deal with this would be to feed only pastured
meats, nothing grain-fed. Short of that, the long-term supplement a
lot of people use is salmon oil. Bottled, so no capsules!

Lots of options, and you're unlikely to break your dog by picking one
and trying it. Just be willing to be flexible in case whatever you
pick doesn't work out.
