[rawfeeding] Re: pug with mast cell cancer

Hi Beckie,

I have a 12 y.o. Collie with mast cell cancer, next to his anus and on
the bottom of his tail near the base. He was diagnosed 4 years ago.

A raw diet is the best you can feed your pug, because carbs (grains)
will just feed the cancer. Grains become a form of sugar during
digestion.

I give a spice called Turmeric, and it's helped stop spread of the
tumors. I don't recommend chemo or radiation - you cannot poison him
well. Here is the website for turmeric...

You should look into a homeopath, and Ginny can chime in here and help
you with that. Good luck and feel free to contact me off list.

One tip after surgery - you MUST give Benedryl and Tagamet 3
times/day. Ask your vet for dosage. Otherwise, you're poor dog will
continually itch and have severe heartburn. Mast cells are notorious
for doing so. Give 3 times/day for 1 month, twice/day for 1 month and
once/day for 1 month, then stop. Then start the turmeric.

I would start your dog on raw food immediately, but there are other,
more experienced raw feeders on the list that can help you with that.
