[rawfeeding] Re: Help...not going so well

Hmm...In only a week you have a whole lot of variety in there! That
might be your problem.

You might consider feeding just once a day or maybe a bone in meal
for both feedings. Your dogs just might not be able to handle a
meaty meat meal yet.

Woah, a pork shoulder for a snack? I don't think your pups need a
big snack in addition to two meals a day. BTW, marrow bones are
really dense and can cause tooth breakage, I'd stay away from them.

For dogs a week into raw feeding, this is probably wayy too much
variety, and depending on the size of dogs, probably way too much
food.

Probably from too much food.

This is a natural reaction to an irritated stomach. Did your boy
partake in the beef neck bone, or eat the bone from the pork
shoulder? That probably would have done it.

He is probably really uncomfortable right now. Is he drinking water
ok? If the liquid poo has stopped and he's holding down water I
would fast him for a day and start again with a much more basic
menu. When my dogs eat something that doesn't agree with them, they
generally laze about for a day, giving me sad eyes.

She might not have been hungry in the morning. How big is she and
what breed?

> She still has very soft to liquid stool.

You mentioned that you suspected parasites, have you taken care of
them? It can take a while for the poo to get back to normal. You
also might be feeding her too much in one sitting.

I think going back to basics is a great idea. Go back to just
chicken. Get whole ones, whack them up, and feed through them. Let
everyone's digestive system get used to it before adding variety.
You'll probably want to fast your boy for a day to give his system
time to reset. I know it is hard to hold back on variety at first,
but you guys have a lifetime to explore new foods. Take it easy for
now.

Good luck!
