I KNOW that kind of vomit. My female boxer has a very sensitive
stomach and if something unsettles her she'll vomit a heap of FOUL
smelling food. It is my opinion that when her stomach gets upset
(stress or unusual food item) it just stops emptying and everything
sits there for a few hours and deteriorates until she throws it up.

Had to say for sure if it was the mackerel but I would consider waiting
a bit before trying that again.
