Chicken wings attached to a larger hunk of chicken are fine; attached
to the whole rest of the bird, wings are terrific.
IMO the bone is not the issue; the lack of meat on the bones is the
poser. Mine, at least. If anything is too small, it's the whole dang
wing piece.
